Kamppi Chapel

An experiential moment in Kamppi
Kamppi Chapel is a place of peace and quiet located in the heart of Helsinki at Narinkkatori Square. It offers visitors a space to pause, reflect, and experience silence in the middle of the busy city. The chapel is open to everyone and is designed to provide a moment of calm and stillness for all who enter.
The chapel was designed by K2S Architects (Mikko Summanen, Niko Sirola, and Kimmo Lintula). It is a 11.5-metre-tall wooden structure built using three different types of wood. The exterior walls are made of spruce and coated with a special nanotechnology-based wax finish. The interior walls are made of milled alder, while the fittings and internal door are made of ash. The ceiling includes soundproof plasterboard to enhance the quiet atmosphere. The altar features a silver cross made by silversmith Antti Nieminen, and the silk paraments are designed by textile artist Tiina Uimonen.
Admission is 5 € per person, while several groups such as under 18s, personal assistants, tour guides, press card holders, Helsinki Card users, and Helsinki residents can enter free of charge. Ticket sales end 15 minutes before closing time.
