Finlandia Hall

An experiential moment in Töölönlahti
Finlandia Hall is one of Helsinki’s best-known landmarks and an iconic building designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, located on the shores of Töölönlahti Bay. Completed in 1971, Finlandia Hall is an important part of Finnish architecture, and in 2026 it became part of the Aalto Works collection, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The renovated Finlandia Hall is now also open to locals and visitors. The building hosts concerts, events and other occasions, but it can also be visited without attending an event. Visitors can explore the Visions of Alvar Aalto – Finlandia Exhibition, which tells the story of Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto and their approach to architecture and design.
A visit can be complemented by Finlandia Cafe&Wine, offering views over Töölönlahti Bay, and Finlandia Shop, whose selection is inspired by the building’s architecture and Finnish design. Finlandia Hall is also home to Finlandia Bistro, and visitors can even stay in the historic Finlandia Homes apartments designed by Alvar Aalto.
Finlandia Hall is easy to combine with a visit to the Töölönlahti area. Alongside the architecture, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as Oodi, the Helsinki Music Centre and Kansalaistori Square.
